Gilbert Smith

Gilbert Allan Smith, 68, of Lansdale, died Wednesday, April 29 in his home. He was the husband of Josephine (Rossi) Smith. They would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in May. Born in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Allan and Betty (Cole) Smith. He was a 1978 graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a BS. in Computer Science. Gilbert was the chief information officer for American Long Lines, a telecommunications company in Horsham, for twenty years, retiring in 2006. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Gilbert was a Life Master in bridge playing and a real animal lover. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jonathan Smith and his wife Cassandra of Doylestown; a daughter, Rachel Smith of North Wales and a sister, Nancy Rounsaville of Saylorsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 4 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Robert Templeton officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the MIddlecreek Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
